Excellent company to work for

I enjoyed my time with BFI the work was great and team management was always there. Im a journeyman welder but worked as a pipefitter with BFI, I got a chance to work with different individuals and picked up on pipefitting skills. I would work with BFI again anytime.

Friendly environment and good team players. A lot of benefits being employed for BFI. You can have discount tickets and the opportunity to meet celebrities and important people.I have learned a lot from the place and the people you work for. I was a pleasant experience working there and also was able to build good relationships with other people. The hardest is when you deal with some homeless intoxicated but in general, the building is a great place to work and be part of it. Exciting

Productive fun place to work

BFI cared about its employees. Work life balance was true to statement here. They made sure you were rewarded handsomely for safety and attendance. The company was bought out in 2008 and that's when thing took a turn for the worst.

So much work, so little time

Lots of work, so the jobs are secure, however they do not hire direct. You work through an agency for a LONG time before they decide to offer you a position. When I was finally offered a position, I accepted, and it then took them another 3 months before they brought around the paperwork. Well, in the interim, I was applying for full time permanent positions, and was offered another job, and took it.

Benefits are good and in the spring and fall there is usually overtime available. Management is good and knows the the waste business very well. I would work there again if the opportunity came along.

bfi is a great bank. the work was easy and the other employees very professional. I leaned how be a cashier. the culture of the bank was nice like all the Cuban people. the manager gave me the opportunity to grow professionally, and change the position in a short time. I think that all the time was enjoyable.
