My time at inteflora was quite short however I learned a great deal. The job was relatively easy and not to stressful. The only downsides are that you are working one minute and then told your not needed the next.

Look else where

It’s very meh to work for Interflora, I worked there for a little over three years as a temp and got absolutely no job security. Major devise between the temps and perms and the old and young. The younger employees are expected to work much harder and do a lot more than the older employees, and they refuse to let any of the permanent staff go even though most of them aren’t great. Also I thought the pay was fine until I applied to other positions and realised we were getting less than £16,000 yearly and most people doing this job get 19,500+ so a good amount less. They beg for feedback and when it’s given it’s never applied, they clearly think of the customer service staff as grunts and we are treated as such. Please look elsewhere.

Points positifs

I made one friend

Points négatifs

Toxic work environment

Just a number

Pay was above average, however your just a number to management. Was employed at Christmas time through brook street they took on over 50 people then found out after had left my job that only around 5 would be kept on. False advertisement there? maybe on brook streets behalf? If your face fits kind of company. I left before the bulk lay off was done for a permanent job as wasn't a risk I was willing to take.

Points positifs

Double time

I was only working there along side my university and it was flexible and payed well. There was no drama, training was great and overtime was welcome.

Productive and Focused workplace

A typical day at work at Interflora would be arriving and sitting down at your terminal, donning your headset and just getting on with the job at hand which is taking calls all shift from customers to deal with orders or complaints. The business had a very well managed support structure for its staff as there is always someone on hand to offer assistance should it be needed. The hardest part of the job is trying to stay focused when all around you everyone one else is dealing with their own calls and talking. The hours can be a bit tricky, especially round the busier times of the year when it's all hands on deck and your shifts can change on short notice from day to day. If you enjoy telesales, then this is the perfect place for you. It's a well managed and friendly environment, with opportunities for overtime.

Points positifs

free fruit baskets and drinks all day every day and a brilliant support structure.

Points négatifs

can get tedious with long hours.

Enjoyable work

Enjoyable work with supportive management and co workers. Only downside being that it was temporary. Would have happily stayed here on a permanent full time basis.

Customer Service Advisor

A typical day at work involves going upstairs to the call centre 10-15 minutes before the start of your shift and logging into the computer systems and phone. This is so that you're available to take your first call at precisely your shift start time. You then take incoming calls, both sales and customer care calls. Training is minimal, it's one day for sales and one day for customer care, so there's a lot that you don't know. You get given a help card to attract a floorwalker's attention when you get stuck. You're not given your shifts ahead of time and the rota can change on a daily basis without warning. When the phones are quiet, you get sent home early. I was sent home early 3 times in 2 weeks and one of those times I was only 2 hours into my shift. It's very difficult to survive financially from working this job. It's advertised as full-time hours and the agency tells you it will be over 30 hours a week, but in reality, once the peak week's over, you are either let go, or you get kept on with part-time hours which have got as low as 5 hours a week. Basically, a zero hours contract but nobody tells you that. The best perk of the job is the free tea and coffee machine and the free biscuits in the staff room. The most enjoyable part of the job is when you get a really lovely, friendly, patient customer on the line. Your fellow temporary customer service advisors are for the most part, great people, and it was fun getting to know them at break times.

Points positifs

Free coffee and biscuits

Points négatifs

No guaranteed hours, being sent home early

I liked it here

I really enjoyed this job. Loved talking to customers, got to look at pictures of pretty flowers all day. Location is pretty convenient, with shops and sandwich bars nearby. Free drinks and during peak periods you got free pizza! Great colleagues, nice managers. I would have loved to stay on permanently but the salary was far too low. As a temp you are promised a minimum number of hours per week but it doesn't happen. You are sent home early if it's quiet and they also will cancel your shift altogether at short notice, leaving you short. You will be laid off at a moment's notice too. Even so, if I still lived there, I would love to go back, if I could afford to live on the salary.

Points positifs

Easy job, quite enjoyable

Points négatifs

Poor salary and no job security

Shift work

The contact centre was busy from Christmas to Mother's Day and quietened slightly over summer. I learned a lot about customer services and complaints handling. I used a bespoke system to log calls, emails, social media communications and live chat conversations.

Points positifs

Competitions

Points négatifs

Shift work

productive

It was quite hard to get the hang of it due to poor training. Took quite a while to get my head round how the system works and how to do the work. Once it was properly explained the work flow was good.

Points positifs

being able to chat

Points négatifs

late hours

Fun

All very nice people, not the best management. Hardest part of the job is complaints from customers. typical day at work would be fun, varied and challenging at times. the most enjoyable part is putting things right for customers.

Flexible Work Life

We work in a relaxed environment, processing orders both nationally and internationally from customers. We listen, we laugh and at time we cry with our customers as they are not just ordering flowers or gifts but an experience that we share with them. We clock in and out, not worrying about unfinished work as there isn't any. Management are supportive and encouraging with an open door policy and attitude towards their staff. We work only 5 hour shifts, 3 days a week, talk about family and student friendly hours! Highly recommended.

I love the friendly and helpful environment.

The people at Interflora were lovely. They were flexible with hours, never pressured you into more hours and were so helpful in our training. I learnt so much about the company and how to deal with upset customers. The hardest part was the amount of emails we had to get through but we were encouraged to do our best but never pressured. The best part was probably the free hot chocolate at the breaks and sitting and talking to everyone. All colleagues were very chatty and easy to talk to.

Points positifs

the hot chocolate was a big pro, very nice.

Points négatifs

The late nights were hard but made easier with the amazing envrioment

Lively place to work but the work is repetitive and you get a lot of customers shouting at you as soon as you answer the phone!

You have to be at your desk at least 10 minutes before your shift starts and quite often you will not finish on time due to being stuck on the phone with people, You are not allowed to log off your phone even 1 minute before the end of your shift, which is why sometimes you will be on the phone 10 minutes after your shift as you do have to finish with the customer.Co workers are what kept me their as long as I was, and the team leaders are great. The managers not so great.

Points positifs

free chocolates and fruit for all staff over peak periods, incentives for selling well.

Points négatifs

long hours over peak periods. customers shouting at you on a daily basis.
