Be a part of our daring Operations team of over 20k exceptional minds. Here, you won't just work on complex challenges; you'll help create sustainable and inclusive beauty alongside our visionary partners. Your role? Helping crafting, innovating, sourcing, producing, and delivering millions of products and services that touch every corner of the globe.

Role

The Energy Expert will play a crucial role in reducing L'Oréal's environmental footprint by developing and implementing the Group's global energy strategy. This involves defining objectives, targets, and KPIs aligned with L'Oréal's sustainability goals, conducting energy audits, identifying optimization opportunities, and supporting the implementation of innovative energy-saving projects across all our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development & Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor L'Oréal's global energy strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's overall sustainability objectives.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and implement energy performance improvement projects at industrial sites, distribution centers, and offices globally. Conduct energy audits, analyze data, and recommend technical solutions to optimize energy consumption.
  • Innovation & Renewable Energy Integration: Lead the exploration and implementation of innovative energy solutions, including renewable energy projects (solar, wind, etc.) and energy storage systems, to reduce reliance on traditional energy sources.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Monitoring: Stay abreast of evolving energy regulations and standards, ensuring L'Oréal's compliance and identifying opportunities arising from new legislation. Monitor and analyze energy performance indicators, providing regular reports to management.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (Purchasing, Real Estate, Manufacturing, Site Operations) and external partners (energy suppliers, consultants) to achieve energy efficiency targets. Negotiate energy contracts and manage supplier relationships.
  • Project Management: Oversee energy-related projects from conception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Integrate energy considerations into the design phase of new buildings and facilities.
  • Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to raise awareness of energy efficiency best practices among operational teams across the organization.
  • Standards & Best Practices: Define and implement standardized procedures and best practices for energy management across L'Oréal's global operations.
Candidate Profile
  • Engineering degree specializing in energy, HVAC engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of significant experience in energy management, preferably within an industrial setting.
  • Deep understanding of the energy market, including energy pricing, supply and demand dynamics, RECs, and emerging energy technologies.
  • Strong technical background in electricity, including distribution, metering, and efficiency measures.
  • Expertise in solar energy technologies (PV and thermal).
  • In-depth knowledge of energy and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in energy performance analysis tools and methods.
  • Excellent analytical, synthesis, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage cross-functional projects.
