Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Verify the accuracy of customer invoices.
  • Record customer payments (checks, ACH transfers, wire transfers) in the accounting system.
  • Issue customer invoices and ensure timely collection of payments.
  • Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding invoices.
  • Allocate payments accurately to invoices and related accounts.
  • Participate in accounts receivable reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service teams to address disputes or payment issues.
  • Monitor aging balances and customer outstanding accounts.
  • Follow up with overdue customers via phone, email, or mail.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, statements, and payment status.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records.
  • Prepare AR reports, including aging reports, collection tracking, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).

General Accounting

  • Assist with various accounting tasks as required.
  • Participate in month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries, as directed by the Finance Manager.

Desired Profile

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree (MBO/HBO equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills (intermediate to advanced level required).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards.

Additional Skills Appreciated

  • Strong sense of autonomy and initiative.
  • Basic knowledge of the agricultural industry.
  • Experience working with multiple entities (e.g., laboratory and commercial operations).
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
